TheraMe Rehabilitation

TheraMe is an innovative form of orthopedic therapy and rehabilitation offered at Dr. Novack’s office. TheraMe is administered by Connie Tillmans, MS, LAT, ATC, FMS-C, the team’s athletic trainer, and overseen by Dr. Novack.

What is TheraMe?

Our team believes that many orthopedic injuries and conditions improve if the patient is provided with education, instruction and direction and motivated to execute their program. Physical therapy is the typical setting for orthopedic rehabilitation.

With the trend toward higher insurance deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance, physical therapy can be cost-prohibitive for many patients. Also, many patients do not have the time or flexibility to spend 2-3 days a week in therapy, in addition to the time spent traveling to and from their sessions.

TheraMe is an Alternative to Physical Therapy

TheraMe is an option for patients:

  • With injuries that fall within the scope of practice of a certified athletic trainer.
  • Who have orthopedic conditions that are not complicated by other medical conditions.
  • Who are motivated to executive a home exercise program.
  • Who are seeking an option that is more affordable than traditional physical therapy.

The goals of TheraMe:

  • A patient gets better and makes progress towards his or her goals.
  • Time and money have been well-spent and saved for the patient.

How TheraMe Works

Dr. Novack will provide information to patients he believes would be a good fit for TheraMe.

If a patient chooses to participate, they will schedule their appointment with Connie Tillmans, ATC for rehabilitation.

The patient will be carefully evaluated and provided a highly-individualized home exercise program.

At two weeks, a follow-up appointment occurs by phone to check-in and see how you’re doing.

Between appointments, patients can call anytime with questions or concerns.

Rarely do patients require more than two visits. If a patient is working on integrating a higher-level movement pattern back into their routine (i.e. athletes), they may require more than two visits.

What Conditions Does TheraMe Address?

The most common orthopedic conditions TheraMe addresses are:

  • Fractures (shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle)
  • Rotator Cuff Injuries
  • Impingement
  • Instability Issues
  • Tendonitis
  • Hip Pain (mobility and stability issues)
  • Knee Pain (meniscus repairs, patellofemoral pain, patella dislocations)
  • Ankle Sprains
  • Core Abdominal Strength Issues
  • Tennis Elbow

What Does TheraMe Cost?
